You can ask signers to upload documents before signing, such as an ID, IBAN or other supporting documents to attach to the contract. Follow this article to find out how.
Discover Document Collection
You can ask signers to upload documents before moving on to the signature step. This allows you to easily collect additional documents to attach to the contract, directly using the Yousign app. These documents could be:
Bank account details
An ID card
A proof of address
An invoice
A consent form
And other documents
The account owner, administrators and members with the Pro and Scale plans can request a signer to upload documents.
How to ask signers to upload documents
You can ask signers to upload documents whilst creating a signature request:
After uploading a document to the signature request creation page,
Please note: You must add at least one signer before you can ask for a document upload.
Click on "Collect a document" in the "Documents to collect" section at the left of the page.
Enter the type of document you want to collect, for example: an ID card or proof of address.
Define which signer(s) have to upload the document by ticking the box next to their name. You must select at least one signer by document.
By default, the file upload is mandatory. You can change this to optional by clicking on the "Required" button, turning it gray.
Click on "Save".
You can edit the collection request by clicking on the pencil icon at the right of the document name.
You can collect up to 10 documents per signature request.
Impact on your signers
When the signers review your documents, before being able to sign, they will be asked to upload their documents.
Please note:
Signers will not be able to see documents uploaded by other signers.
Signers can upload documents that are PDF, JPG and PNG format.
The maximum allowed size per document is 25Mo.
If the document upload is mandatory, signers will not be able to sign if they haven’t uploaded the requested files.

Download collected documents
Once your signer has uploaded their documents, you can download all the signed and collected documents together, or the documents collected per signer individually.
To retrieve and download collected documents, the signer's status must be on "Signed".
To download the signed and collected documents together:
Once your signature request has been completed, the collected documents will also be included in the final zip file.
Go to the Signature request details page.
Click on "Download documents" at the top right of the page.
Signed and uploaded documents will be downloaded into a single file.
To download collected documents individually:
Go to the Signature request details page.
Click on "Documents" next to the signer's name to download only their documents.
To download a single document, click on the "Download" button next to the individual document you want to download.
To download all of the individual signer's collected documents click on "Download all".
