We’ve made important updates to Yousign’s Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, and Data Processing Addendum (DPA) to improve transparency and clarify key aspects of our services.

What updates have been made to our Terms and Conditions?

Several articles have been updated:

  • Article 5 on Guarantees & Article 7 on Yousign’s obligations, responsibilities, and guarantees: We've added more detailed information about both Yousign's and the user's responsibilities. While users were already subject to these guarantees, they are now clearly outlined for better transparency.

  • Article 6 on Maintenance and Versions: This article has been entirely rewritten for clarity. Users now explicitly agree to migrate to the latest version of our platform when a new one is released.

  • Article 8 on Price: We’ve introduced multi-currency support, with no impact on existing customers.

  • Article 9 on Special Terms for Services: We’ve added more details to better describe specific services, such as e-seals and full API offerings.

  • Article 15 on Termination: A new notice period has been introduced for customers with 1-year (1-month' notice), 2-year (3 months' notice), 3-year (6 months' notice), and multi-year (2 months' notice) subscriptions. Additionally, two new conditions have been added, allowing Yousign to terminate the contract without fault in case of disagreement by the Subscriber regarding the platform migration or change in service costs.

  • Article 19.5: A hardship clause has been added, allowing Yousign to renegotiate the contract in the event of unforeseen circumstances.

What updates have been made to the Privacy Policy?

The Privacy Policy has been fully updated to provide more clarity on the processing of personal data by Yousign as a data controller. It offers greater transparency regarding data retention and the legal basis Yousign applies. These changes do not introduce any new obligations for users. Yousign has also updated the list of data processors.

What updates have been made to the Data Processing Addendum (DPA)?

The language of the DPA has been revised for better clarity. Additionally, an appendix detailing the processing activities carried out by Yousign as a data processor has been included.

Which documents are included in this update?

The following documents are included:

  • Definitions page

  • List of declared Data Processors

  • Terms of Use and Subscription

  • Data Processing Addendum (with a new annex)

  • Privacy Policy

Will the updated Terms and Conditions take effect immediately or after a delay?

For new customers, the update will take effect from the publication date onward.

For existing customers, a 30-day notice period will apply, as outlined in Article 19.2 of our Terms and Conditions.

Which languages are affected by the latest update on Yousign's Terms and Conditions?

Our Terms and Conditions, definitions, DPA, and privacy policy have been updated in French (FR), English (EN), German (DE), and Italian (ITA).

Do bespoke contracts get impacted by this update?

No, this update only applies to new customers and those under standard Terms and Conditions. Customers with bespoke contracts or specific conditions that prevent Yousign from modifying the Terms and Conditions will not be affected by these changes.

Are quotes going to be updated due to the recent changes to Yousign's Terms and Conditions?

No, quotes won’t need updating, as we’re only updating the content of the URLs, which will remain the same.

Will the same URL be reused with only the content of the Terms and Conditions updated?

Yes, the URL will remain the same; we’re only updating the content on the page. This approach prevents broken links in website flows, quotes, documents, and other references.

We’ll also include the effective date ("last updated on:") on the page, along with a link to the previous version.

What happens if a user sends an email to hello@yousign.com?

The user will receive an automated response informing them that Yousign does not monitor this email.

Any questions regarding the Terms and Conditions should be submitted through the in-app Help Form.
