Renaming a document facilitates the management of signed documents and ongoing signature requests. To find out how to rename a document, follow this guide.
Rename a document while preparing a signature request
You can rename an uploaded document while creating or editing a signature request
To rename a document while preparing a signature request :
Go to the signature request preparation page,
Click on the "..." at the right of the document you want to rename in the left side panel,
Click on "Rename document",
Enter the new name you wish to call your document,
Click on "Rename",
Your document will now be renamed.
Renaming a document will not impact the audit trail, the original name of the document will be kept.
You can also click on the "pencil" icon to rename a document.
Click on the name of the document you wish to rename in the left side panel,
Click on the "pencil" icon,
Enter the new name you wish to call your document,
Click on "Rename".
Renaming a document will not change the name of the signature request.
Rename a signed document
The Signed documents page is available to users with the One, Plus, Pro et Scale plans.
To rename a signed document :
Go to the Signed Documents page,
Click on the "..." at the right of the signed document you want to rename,
Click on "Rename document",
Enter the new name you wish to call your signed document,
Click on "Rename",
Your document will now be renamed.
All users can rename a document, regardless of their role, only if they have access to it.
You can follow the activity of your signed document and view who and when someone renamed a document in the activity section on the right of the detailed request page.
Changing the name of the signed document will not change/impact the name of the document on the associated audit trail.
