How to sign documents with a QES


The Qualified Electronic Signature is a reinforced signature level, the legal equivalent to handwritten signature, to ensure the highest security standards.

This signature level requires a 2-step identification, first of your ID document, then of your face. It is 100% automated, so you can complete the process whenever you want, wherever you are.

If you have already been through the identification process, you will be directed to the signature step.

To sign your documents using QES, follow the steps presented in the guides below according to your case:

Before signing, make sure you have access to your ID documents and a mobile phone with camera.

How to sign with QES for the first time?


When you’re invited to sign a document using the Qualified Electronic Signature, and if it’s the first time or if your identification is no longer valid (e.g. after 2 years or if the identity document has expired), you will have to confirm your identity with a 2-step process: ID document and face-to-face verification.

It won’t take more than 10 minutes and is 100% automated!

You can identify in complete autonomy.

Step 1 : Read the documents


When you receive the invitation request, click on it to start. The first step is to read the documents and fill them in according to the different requests.

Step 2 : Check the information


Confirm your personal details and agree to certain terms and conditions.

Step 3: Access to signature


Then, you will be redirected to the "Consent to Sign" page on Yousign.

Step 4: Download the Nect application


To start the identification process, download the Nect mobile app (available for iOS and Android).

Step 5 : Identification on Nect


(1/4) Accept Nect's T&C and privacy policy

(2/4) Filming you ID

Passports from all countries are accepted EXCEPT:

  • National ID cards are only accepted for Germany and Spain.

  • Residence permits are only accepted for Germany.

(4/4) After answering the security questions, you will have to stay logged in and wait for the identification response (up to 10 minutes).

If an error is detected, you will be asked to repeat the steps that were not validated.

Step 6 : register with Swisscom


You must register with Swisscom to save your identification.

To register with Swisscom, please :

  • provide a telephone number

  • enter a password

  • enter the OTP code received by SMS

Once you have registered with Swisscom, you will only need to enter your password to bypass the identification steps which will be saved in a wallet.

Step 7: Access to the signature


Once this operation is completed, you will be redirected to the "Consent to Sign" page on Yousign.

Step 8: Authentication for signature


To identify yourself, enter the following information :

  • your Swisscom password used during your first registration to save your identification

  • an OTP code received by SMS

Step 9 : download document


The document is ready and available for download.

How to sign with the QES if you’ve already identified before?


Step 1 : Read the documents

When you receive the signature request, click on it to start. The first step is to read the documents and fill them in according to the different requests.

Step 2 : Check the information You have to confirm your personal details and agree to certain terms and conditions.

Step 3 : Access to signature

Then, you will be redirected to the "Consent to Sign" page on Yousign.

Step 4: Authentication for signature

To identify yourself, you just need to enter the following informations:

  • Your Swisscom password used during your first registration to save your identification

  • An OTP code received by SMS

5th and last step: Download document.

The document is ready and available for download.
