The Audit trails folder feature allows you to download all audit trails from an entire workflow session in a single ZIP file. Instead of downloading each verification and signature audit trail individually, you can now retrieve comprehensive proof of your entire workflow in one click, saving time and providing ready-to-use evidence for audits or legal proceedings.
What is the Audit trails folder?
A workflow session is a sequence of verifications, eseals and signature requests - more info on Workflows here. The Audit trails folder gathers all the audit trails from these actions into one organized ZIP file, providing complete documentation of your workflow from start to finish.
What's included:
Audit trails for each verification (ID verification, company registry verification, etc.)
Audit trails for all signers in each signature request, organized in subfolders
Only the most recent audit trail if an action was retried
Why use the audit trails folder?
Time-saving: Download all audit trails at once instead of individually
Ready-to-use proof: Get an organized folder ready for audits, legal proceedings, or compliance requirements
Prerequisites
Your organization must have Workflows enabled
Only Admins and Owners can download audit trails folders
Workflow session must be in Completed or Blocked status
You must be in Production mode (not available in Sandbox)
Step-by-Step Instructions
From the Workflow Sessions list:
Sign in to your Yousign account
Navigate to Workflows in the left menu
Select your Workflow Template
Locate the workflow session you want to download
Click the download icon next to the session
The ZIP file downloads automatically to your device
From a Workflow Session details page:
Open the Workflow Session you want to download
Click the Download audit trails folder button
The ZIP file downloads automatically to your device to your device
💡 Tip: The download button is only enabled for sessions with Completed or Blocked status. If the button is disabled, check that you meet all prerequisites listed above.
Understanding the folder structure
The downloaded ZIP file is named: Audit trails folder - [Session name].zip
Inside the ZIP:
Verification audit trails appear as individual PDF files at the root level
Signature request audit trails are organized in subfolders, with one PDF per signer
Example structure:

Important rules:
If an action was retried, only the audit trail from the last attempt is included
If an action was deleted, its audit trail will not be included
FAQ
Why is the download button disabled?
The download button is disabled if:
The workflow session status is not Completed or Blocked
You are in Sandbox mode (switch to Live mode)
One or more audit trails are not yet supported
An audit trail failed to generate
Make sure you meet all prerequisites and try again.
Can I download the audit trails folder via API?
Not currently. The audit trails folder can only be downloaded from the Yousign web application. API access may be added in the future.
What happens if an audit trail fails to generate?
If an audit trail is unavailable or fails to generate, an error message will appear and the download will not proceed. Contact Yousign support if this issue persists.
Which verification types are supported?
The audit trails available for workflow sessions are the same as those provided by our Verify product.

Can I download audit trails in Sandbox mode?
No, the audit trails folder feature is only available in Live mode to ensure the integrity of legal documentation.
What if I need audit trails from a specific action only?
You can still download individual audit trails by opening the specific verification or signature request and using its download option. The folder download is designed to save time when you need complete workflow documentation.
