Duplicating a signature request allows you to copy an existing signature request and make changes without editing the original. Follow this guide to find out how.

Duplicating a signature request can be very useful for :

  • Avoid having to retype certain information from the request.

  • Changing incorrect information before resending a request.

You can duplicate all signature requests, regardless of their status.

The duplicated request will automatically be in draft, it will not have the same status as the original signature request, so you can edit it as you need.
If the orignal request is signed or partially signed, the duplicated request will not be signed.

How to duplicate a signature request

  • Go to the Signatures page.

  • Click on the “” at the end of the line of the signature request you would like to duplicate.

  • Click on “Duplicate request”.

  • If necessary, update the name of the new request (you will still be able to edit it later).

  • Click on “Duplicate”.

  • Your new signature request appear on top of your signature requests list in Draft.

  • Go to the Signatures page.

  • Click on the signature request you would like to duplicate.

  • Click on the "..." at the top right corner of the detailed request page.

  • Click on "Duplicate request".

  • If necessary, update the name of the new request (you will still be able to edit it later).

  • Click on “Duplicate”.

  • Return to the Signatures page.

  • Your new signature request will appear on top of your signature requests list in Draft.

How to edit a duplicated signature request


Once you have duplicated a signature request, you can edit the copy to save time. Here are some tips to replace a document and/or replace a signer, while keeping the original fields in the same place. You can also edit the duplicated signature request's settings page.

Replace a document

After duplicating a signature request, you can replace documents from your signature request. Replacing a document allows you to change the original document of the duplicated request whilst keeping the same fields in the same placement as the original signature request. To do this :

  • Go to the Signatures page.

  • Click on the copy of the signature request you would like to change.

  • Click on "Edit request" at the top right of the page.

  • Click on "..." at the right of the document you would like to replace.

  • Click on "Replace this document".

  • Select the document you want to upload.

  • Your new document will now be uploaded

Replace a document

The original fields will not be changed, they will automatically be transferred onto your new document, in the same place.

Replace a signer

After duplicating a signature request, you can replace signers from your signature request. Replacing a signer allows you to change the recipient of the duplicated request whilst keeping the same fields in the same placement as the original signature request. To do this :

  • Go to the Signatures page.

  • Click on the copy of the signature request you would like to change.

  • Click on "Edit request" at the top right of the page.

  • Click on "..." at the right of the signer's name you want to replace.

  • Click on "Replace this signer"

  • Enter the name of the new signer you wish to replace with and select the contact. Or create a new contact by clicking "Create". Enter the details and click "Add signer".

  • The original signer will now be replaced with the new signer.

The duplicated document will not be signed, even if the original document is.
