The electronic signature is a technical and legal process enabling individuals to give consent and approval to digital documents.

More than just an image or drawing, this tool complies with conditions and standards set and controlled by European and French authorities.

An electronic signature must fulfil at least those three following criteria:

  • The identity of the person who is signing,

  • A proof of consent of the signer

  • The guarantee of the document integrity, meaning the content has to be frozen in time.

The electronic signature is part of a precise legal environment in Europe via the eIDAS (Electronic IDentification And Trust Services) regulation and in France via its transcription in articles 1366 and 1367 of the civil code.
